– In six matches between these two franchises – as the DHL Stormers and the Cheetahs (in their current names) – at the Free State Stadium, both teams have won three encounters each.

– The last four encounters between these two sides have been won by home team, but overall the DHL Stormers have dominated this derby in the earlier years, winning seven out of their first nine clashes.

– The last time these sides met, in May last year, the DHL Stormers won by 33-0 in Cape Town. It was the only time that the Cheetahs failed to score a solitary point in a match.

– When the Cheetahs beat the DHL Stormers, by 35-22 in Bloemfontein a year ago, it was only the second time ever the Capetonians could not collect at least one log point from this encounter – the other time was in 2007, when the Central South African side won 27-9 at the Free State Stadium.

– The DHL Stormers are on a four-match winning streak against South African teams this season. Their overall winning percentage in local derbies is 63.4% – it’s better than the Bulls (60.7%), Sharks (54.7%), Cheetahs (32.1%) or Lions (24.5%) in local derbies.
