With a capacity crowd set to watch the Springboks take on the All Blacks in the Castle Lager Rugby Championship at DHL Stadium on 7 September, make sure you take advantage of the free parking and shuttle services available to ticket holders.

Given the large crowd that will attend this historic match, there will be heavy traffic congestion in the stadium precinct and no parking available to the public in the vicinity.

Spectators are urged to park remotely and catch a free MyCiTi bus from the Civic Centre and Thibault Square bus stations, UCT, Century City Steelbridge E-Parking or CTICC to ensure that they do not miss any of the action.

There is dedicated parking available in the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) parking area for R150 (CLICK HERE to buy now – online bookings only) from 11h30 to midnight, with a free MyCiTi shuttle from 12h00 and the last bus returning at 21h30.

There is also free public parking available on a first-come first-served basis at the Civic Centre from 11h00. There are 355 bays available at the Woodstock Parking Area (enter from Civic Road) and 120 bays in the Hertzog Parking Area (enter from Hertzog Boulevard incoming). Those parking at the Civic Centre will also be able to catch a free MyCiTi Shuttle to the stadium from the Civic Centre station.

There will be no parking available at DHL Stadium, unless you have an event-issued Vehicle Access Pass.

On-street parking is available within the city centre but no additional security will be provided. Parking tariffs will apply until 13h00 after which on-street parking becomes free of charge.

DHL Stadium is in a residential precinct, so please respect the residents and co-operate with the traffic officials on duty. Please note that vehicles that are illegally parked will be fined and/or towed away.

Ticket holders with disabilities have a dedicated parking area in P5. These parking bays are limited and will only be issued to those who apply to [email protected].

Free MyCiTi shuttles

Ticket holders will be able to board MyCiTi buses to DHL Stadium free of charge from Century City Steelbridge E-Parking, UCT, Civic Centre, Thibault Square and CTICC.

The shuttle service will take spectators to the Stadium Station, starting at 12h00. Thereafter, a bus leaves every 20 minutes or when full. The last return bus leaves the Stadium bus station at 21h30.

Century City Steelbridge E-Parking , Thibault Square and Civic Centre shuttles will drop spectators off at the Stadium MyCiTi Station.

The UCT shuttle will drop spectators off at Green Point Park East Gate on Helen Suzman Boulevard.

The CTICC shuttle will drop spectators off at the Drop and Go Area at the P4 Parking on Helen Suzman Boulevard.

The shuttle service from UCT and Century City Steelbridge E-Parking will operate until 16h45 to ensure that all spectators get to the event before kick-off of the Springbok game at 17h00.

A park and ride system will be established at UCT from 12h00. Spectators can park on Upper Campus and take a bus to the stadium from the UCT Shuttle North Stop (next to the dam).

The parking areas will be North P1 (below the Sports Centre), P6 (behind the bus stop) and P4 (next to the rugby field ) P5, P17 and P14 which is a total of 2000 bays. These parking areas will be monitored by security but is at your own risk.

There are 500 free parking bays at Century City Steelbridge E-Parking for all those with match tickets, with the first bus departing at 12h00 and the last bus to the stadium station leaving at 21h30.

Take Century City Drive and turn left onto Century Boulevard where you will see a large parking area on the left side of the road opposite the Shell garage and next to the Long March to Freedom Exhibition.

The parking area will be monitored by security but is at your own risk. Alternatively, spectators can park at Canal Walk shopping centre, within Century City, at their own cost.

PRASA Western Cape is running an extended service on Saturday, increasing train intervals to 30-40 minutes from every station to Cape Town station. There will be a special timetable for the Strand and Dutoit line (Stellenbosch) and park-and-ride facilities at selected stations. CLICK HERE for more information on train timetables.

Use public transport to the bus stations and either catch the free event shuttle to the stadium or use the Fan Walk.
