It will be an historic weekend in Cape Town with France playing internationals in both the FIFA Football World Cup and in Saturday’s rugby union Test fixture in the Mother City. Kick-off is at 2pm. With Cape rugby passion still high from a very successful Vodacom Stormers campaign, the Newlands faithful are in for a special treat on Saturday as Les Bleus, the reigning Six Nations champs take on the World and Tri-Nation Champion Boks. Another classic North vs South clash! What a weekend for Cape Town and rugby and football lovers everywhere.

The second and final ticket sales phase opened through Computicket outlets nationwide on Monday 7 June, as a limited amount of tickets were returned from stakeholders and put back into the system for public sales. Tickets for the match initially went on sale on the 4th of May. The Newlands Box Office in Boundary Road will open on Tuesday 8 June at 9am.

Newlands is renowned as a spectacular Test Match venue, and with a large contingent of French fans in Cape Town for the opening match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Friday 11 June, the atmosphere and passion between these two great rugby playing nations will not only be visible on field, but also tangible in the stands.
